Kind Roofing

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Kind Roofing collects through kindroofingtx.com, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to say it in plain words.

Who we are

This website belongs to Kind Roofing, a roofing contractor in Austin, Texas.

  • Address: 80 Rainey St, Unit 3617, Austin, TX 78701
  • Phone: (512) 766-9755
  • Email: will@kindroofingtx.com

Frontend Horizon builds and runs this website and its lead system for us. It handles your information only on our behalf.

What you give us

You give us information when you fill in a form on this site. There are two kinds.

Quote requests

The quote forms appear on the contact page, the home page, some service and landing pages, in articles, and in the floating quote button. They ask for:

  • your name
  • an email address or a phone number (you choose which)
  • the service you want, your city, and the type of property
  • a few answers about your project: your situation, how soon you want it done, your roof's age, how many buildings, and whether an insurance claim is involved
  • how you would like us to reach you (call, text or email), and the days and times you would like to meet

Inspection bookings

The booking form at /book asks for:

  • the service and the date and time window you want
  • your first name, and your last name if you wish
  • an email address or a phone number
  • your address and city, and any notes you add

What is recorded with a request

When you send either form, we also record some details about the visit. This helps us answer you, keep spam out, and learn what brings us requests:

  • the page the form was on
  • the page you arrived on and the site, search or campaign that sent you there (the most recent such visit, not the first)
  • campaign tags (UTM) and ad click ids from Google, Meta and Microsoft
  • your device type (phone, tablet or desktop), your browser language and time zone, and your browser's user agent
  • your IP address, and the country that IP points to (looked up on our own server from a free IP database and used to filter spam)
  • your Google Analytics client id and Meta browser id, when those analytics cookies are present in your browser

Our lead system adds records of its own:

  • It stores your request in a database run by Frontend Horizon: your name, email, phone, address, your answers, the page you sent it from, your IP address and your browser's user agent. For a booking, it also stores the slot you asked for, so that two people are not given the same one.
  • It checks each request for signs of spam and keeps the result with the request.
  • It links your request to the anonymous visitor id described under Cookies and analytics, so we can see which pages and campaigns led to it.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to you, give you a quote, schedule visits and do the work. We use the details recorded with a request to keep spam out and to learn which pages and campaigns bring requests.

We do not sell your information.

This site loads no advertising or remarketing pixels. If we advertise with Google Ads, Google Analytics can tell our Google Ads account which ad clicks led to a request, so we can measure our ads.

When you send a request

When a request is accepted, our lead system sends a short record of it to PostHog and to its own analytics log. This happens whatever your analytics choice is. The record is filed under your email address, or your phone number if you gave no email. It contains the page you sent it from, whether you gave an email or a phone number, the length of your message (not the message itself), the page you first arrived on and the campaign that sent you there, and your anonymous visitor id. For a booking it also contains the service, date and time window you chose, and your city.

If you give us your email address, we may send you a short confirmation that we received your request; replies go to Kind Roofing. If you give both an email and a phone number, we may use either to reach you.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses these analytics tools.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics counts visits and shows us which pages, links and campaigns work. It sets cookies in your browser. It also records when you tap a phone, text or email link, which options you pick in the quote steps, and that a request was sent along with the service, city and timeline you chose. It does not receive your name, email or phone number from us.

PostHog

PostHog records how people use our pages. It stores a random id in your browser (in cookies and local storage) and builds a profile for that id. It records page views and the buttons, links and form fields you click. After your first tap, click or scroll, it also records a session replay: a recording of how you move through the page, so that we can see where visitors get stuck. If you send a request, that profile is filed under the email address or phone number you gave.

Elevi

We also use Elevi, Frontend Horizon's own analytics tool, to see how visitors use this site: the pages you view, where you click and scroll, which forms you start, how fast pages load, errors, and the ad or website that brought you here. It keeps a random ID in your browser to connect your visits. Elevi is off when you turn analytics off under Cookie preferences or your browser sends Global Privacy Control.

Our own visit log

The site keeps its own log of page views and clicks. It gives your browser a random visitor id and a session id that renews after 30 minutes of inactivity, both stored in your browser's local storage. The log holds the page, the page you came from, any campaign tags, your device type and screen size, and the page title. It does not store your IP address. The ids are sent with a request if you send one, so the request can be linked to the visit that led to it.

Where a visit came from

The site also keeps the source of your visit (the campaign or site that sent you) in your browser for up to 90 days, or only for that visit if analytics is off when you arrive, so a later request can credit it. Turning analytics off does not clear a source that is already stored. It stays until a new campaign visit replaces it.

Your choices

Analytics is on by default. You can turn it off at any time with the Cookie preferences link in the footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics is turned off automatically.

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland start with Google Analytics off. Our own tools (PostHog, Elevi and the visit log) cannot tell where you are, so they run until you turn analytics off.

Who receives it

These companies handle information for us. We name each one for what it does.

  • Frontend Horizon builds and runs this website and its lead system. It stores every request in its content management system, which runs on Supabase, and keeps the lead records described above in its own Supabase database. The content management system emails each request to us, with a copy to Frontend Horizon. The email we receive may include a priority grade worked out automatically from your answers, which helps us decide who to call first. The grade is not stored, and a person still decides what happens next. If the content management system's spam check flags a request, the request is stored and emailed to no one.
  • Supabase hosts those databases.
  • Resend delivers the emails the content management system sends about your request. The website itself sends no email.
  • Google provides Google Analytics.
  • PostHog provides the analytics and session replays described above.
  • Google Maps. The contact page shows a Google map. It loads from Google, with Google's cookies, whether or not analytics is on.
  • Facebook. Some videos in our reels section play through Facebook's video player. It loads only when you press play, and it comes from Facebook, with Facebook's cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your request, and the details recorded with it, for as long as we need it to respond to you and for our business records.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Write or call us using the contact details above. You can turn analytics off at any time with the Cookie preferences link in the footer. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights.

Security, children and changes

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no website or system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee it.

This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new Last updated date.
